La Barrat is a large, picturesque house standing on a raised promontory overlooking a valley, which leads down towards a peaceful fishing lake. The house is just outside the hamlet of Pecdorat, which is all of a dozen houses! We are in open countryside in an exceptionally peaceful and quiet location. At the same time we are only 2 km from the charming, medieval town of Issigeac which has all the resources you may need during your holiday.
We are situated on the borders of the Dordogne and the Lot et Garonne, making this the perfect holiday location with easy access to the popular sights of the Perigord as well as the peace and tranquillity of this vine growing region.
We have two luxury two person gites at La Barrat. The first, Le Séchoir, an old prune drying oven sits close to our farmhouse, the second, La Crèche is in a restored section of our beautiful Périgourdine barn.
La Barrat is set in beautiful surroundings and the pool is sheltered and private with stunning views down the valley.
The Hosts
We are Paul and Chris Seager. We were lucky enough to take very early retirement and move out here in 2002. The minute we saw La Barrat we fell in love with it and just had to have it – even though it was, of course, over budget! The rest of the family consists of three friendly dogs, three cats and a variable number of chickens.
